A recall of 6,046, 2011 Volvo S80, S60, XC70 and XC60 vehicles has been announced due to a potential defect in the engine software. The software that controls fuel cutoff has been programmed to be too sensitive, resulting in unexpected engine stalling when a vehicle is braking or coasting in stop-go traffic. Volvo will notify consumers, and all recalled vehicles will receive a corrective software update free of charge.

This is a potential safety defect, therefore if you own one of the recalled Volvos you should have this problem repaired by a Volvo dealer as soon as possible.
