Toshiba has recalled over 40,000 laptop computers due to a burn hazzard caused by overheating AC adapter ports. The voluntary recall was issued by the company after they received some 129 reports of the ports becoming hot, including two mild burn cases and two cases of minor property damage. The models involved are the Toshiba Satellite T135, T135D and the Satellite Pro T130. The name and model number of each computer can be located at the bottom. If your computer is involved in this recall, Toshiba recommends going to:

to download a BIOS software update which will detect and disable consumers’ computers if they are overheating. A disc with the software update can be requested by calling Toshiba at 800 457-7777 if consumers do not have access to the internet.

This is a potential risk to personal property and even an apartment or home should a fire spread – no to mention risk of bodily harm. Please take all measures correct this problem.
