The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today a "volutary recall" of Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs, imported by Eastern America Trio Products, Inc., of Flushing, NY. The light bulbs may overheat and catch on fire. This is a potential safety defect. The importer has received 4 reports of "incidents", including 2 fires that resulted in property damage.
The recall includes Trisonic 15-, 20-, 22- and 25- watt bulbs. These bulbs were sold at discount stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut from January 2008 to December 2008.
