Three Detroit auto parts suppliers were raided by the FBI on Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2010) evening. Yazaki North America, Denso International America, Inc., and Tokai Rika, aka Tram, make parts for Toyota vehicles. Yazaki makes several electronic components, while it appears Denso supplies various mechanical components, including accelerator pedals. Those pedals were not part of the recent recalls.

Denso claimed its investigation pertained to allegations that the company was in violation of antitrust laws and that the company was cooperating, while the other two companies declined to comment.

This whole Toyota matter grows more curious every day. Where will it lead? It seems as if, perhaps, much lies beneath the surface in this whole affair.
