Chrysler Group LLC has issued a recall for nearly 600,000 vehicles because of a bevy of potential hazards that may result from normal use. Included are 284,831 Chrysler Town and Country minivans and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans made in 2008 and 2009. These vehicles could experience an electrical system error causing a short circuit within the sliding door’s latch, potentially yielding an electrical fire. The recall also involves 288,968 Chrysler Jeep Wranglers made from 2007 to 2010, which could leak brake fuel, resulting in brake failure. Lastly, 25,336 Dodge Calibers and Jeep Compasses made in 2007 for sticky accelerator pedals are being recalled; owners of these vehicles are instructed to contact Chrysler in order to arrange repairs. See www.nhtsa.gov for a more complete list of recalled vehicles. These are potential safety defects, so if you have a question about your car or truck, you should contact your local Chrysler or Jeep dealer and get the vehicle repaired if it is a part of the recall.
