Target Recalls Cheap Air Misters

Comments Off

Target is recalling 168,000 hand-held air misting devices because they can shatter during use and could injure the user. Several reports informed Target of the air misters shattering with at least one report of laceration injuries to the user. The Air Misters were manufactured in China and imported by Target Corp of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Air Misters are clear plastic devices primarily used for personal cooling. They stand 8 inches tall and hold approximately 2 ounces of water. The Air Mister came with colored tops and bases and were sold in black, blue, green and pink along with a nylon carrying strap attached to the top. Target stores throughout the country sold the Air Misters from February 2012 until May 2012 for $2.50.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is advising consumers to stop using the Air Misters and return them to any Target store for a full refund. Consumers may contact Target at 1(800)440-0680 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday or visit the Target website at: www.target.com and click on Product Recalls.
