Potential Automobile Fires Cause Ford to Recall 3.6 Million More Vehicles

Comments Off

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall of another 3.6 million automobiles that have a cruise control switch that has been associated with other Ford vehicle fires. Because the switch is powered at all times, it could cause fires even when the automobile is turned off because of a short circuit. http://money.cnn.com/2007/08/03/autos/ford_recall/index.htm?cnn=yes In 2005 and 2006, Ford recalled nearly 6 million other vehicles because of this cruise control cut-off switch and concerns about fires.

Many of the vehicles involved in this latest recall are models from the 1990’s and 2000’s, including the following: Ford Bronco SUV, Ford Crown Victoria, Ford Vans such as the E150, E250, E350, and E450, Ford Explorer, Ford Pickup Trucks such as the F150, F250, F350, and F450, Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marquis, Mercury Mountaineer, Ford Taurus SHO, and others.
